Dr Mark Ighile
Dr Ighile was the Pioneer Coordinator/Ag. Head, Department of Christian Religious Studies and Senior Lecturer, Department of English and Professional Communication at Redeemer’s University. A holder of PhD in English from the University of Ibadan and Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja, Dr. Ighile specializes in Cultural Communication, Oral Literature, Literature and the New Media, Folklore Studies, Literary Stylistics and Criticism, Creative Writing, and Bible as a Literary Text.
Dr. M. O. Ighile was a full –time journalist and member of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), working with the Sketch Press Limited Ibadan, and rising through the ranks, from being a Features Writer and Reviews Editor to becoming the Features Editor and Member, Editorial Board of the establishment. A highly published and internationally reputed scholar and researcher,
Dr Mark Ighile is a member of several professional bodies such as the American Folklore Association, International Society for the Oral Literatures of Africa, African Literature Association, Association of Nigerian Authors and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. He is the National Secretary/Conference Administrator of the Nigerian Oral Literature Association, Deputy Editor of Nigerian Journal of Oral Literature and Reviews Editor of Umewaen Journal of Benin Studies, published in Canada. He is graciously married to Sharon Titilope Ighile and blessed with Children.
